How we unified three hospitality experiences into one premium brand

SALTBAR
Why MKAY
SALT RESTAURANT | Brand Strategy, Identity and Marketing Strategy
Salt was envisioned as more than a restaurant; it was designed as a complete hospitality brand where dining, whisky, and shisha experiences unite under one premium identity. The objective was to create a cohesive brand that delivers consistency across every customer touchpoint while establishing a distinctive position in a competitive market.
Our role encompassed the entire brand ecosystem, including strategy, visual identity, marketing, website, packaging, environmental branding, and digital communications. The result is a scalable identity system that elevates the customer experience, strengthens brand recognition, and delivers a consistent, premium presence across both physical and digital environments.
The Challange
One of the project's greatest challenges was bringing together three distinct hospitality experiences, Dining Room, Whisky Bar, and Shisha Lounge, under a single identity without allowing any one offering to dominate the brand. Each audience had different expectations, behaviours, and reasons for visiting, yet the experience needed to feel cohesive from the moment a customer encountered the brand online through to their time inside the venue.
The existing market was saturated with restaurants relying on generic luxury aesthetics, making it difficult to establish a memorable position. Beyond creating a visually appealing identity, the challenge was to develop a strategic brand system capable of differentiating Salt while remaining flexible enough to work across interiors, packaging, menus, uniforms, signage, social media, marketing campaigns, and digital platforms.
Our response was to create a modular identity centred around the idea of connection. The three distinctive visual blocks represent the restaurant's three core experiences, combining into a single recognisable mark that communicates unity rather than separation. This strategic approach provided a scalable design language that could be applied consistently across every customer touchpoint, transforming Salt from simply a venue into a recognisable lifestyle brand with a premium and contemporary presence.
